This year we splurged and took our kids on the Polar Express ..aka Heber Creeper. We all showed up in our jammies--funny thing, Owen really wanted to get those jammies with the feet in them and he even tried on a pair at Target with glow in the dark dinosaurs, but they were too small. He was quite disappointed, but I informed him that he really would have felt so stupid showing up looking like that. We were some of the only parents who actually wore our jammies--the other parents just don't believe I guess. We rode the train for 1 1/2 hours, and while riding, we were served hot choc-o-late, and cookies. We sang Christmas Carols, and read the Polar express together as a train. Then we looked out the train window, and there was a big sign that said North Pole on it and Santa himself was waving to us. He climbed aboard and gave each of the children a bell from his sleigh. We really did have a great time, and I guess the kids did too!

That is sooo cool! What a great activity! And tell Owen that I own those pajamas - the red ones with soccer balls on it, from Target - and they are great! Marc thinks they make me look like a little boy which weirds him out. But I'll have to keep the Polar Express in mind for when Madeleine grows up. Such great fun!
It just makes me widely grin to hear of Owen trying to find footsies. Sounds just like the Omar of yesterday...
And I LOVE the kids faces in the picture with Santa. So classic!
How fun! I would love to do that next year when Caleb is a little bigger. Sorry we missed you guys at Thanksgiving - I heard Debra was trying to get all the kids together in a few weeks, hopefully we'll get to see you guys then.
We watched Polar Express last night and I could watch it and read it everyday and still feel the "Magic". Looks like a very fun and creative adventure... good for you to wear your jammies as well!
Cute updates! Your kiddos are sure cute. Hmmm...could I ever get my husband to dress in pj's and go ride a train for 2 hours, singing carols and reading books all the way??? Owen is a good man!
I wish we could go too!!! It looks like you guys are having a great time. Audrey looks so grown up all of the sudden!
We did this when we lived in Utah for that year! It was so much fun, but freezing!
