Oblek!

What is this stuff?? I saw this on my friend Tracy's blog, and we just had to try it. It is made up of glue, water and laundry soap. It isn't sticky, or messy. My kids really had a lot of fun rolling in out, making shapes and stretching it. It's a great alternative to play-doh whick I hate with a passion.-The only thing I'll do next time is put less food coloring in. My hands were a wee bit green by the time I was finished. It has such a different texture, you just gotta try it.

Mix thoroughly
-1 1/2 cup very warm water
-2 cups Elmer's glue
-Food coloring

*In a separate bowl, mix thoroughly:
-1 1/3 cups very warm water
-2 level teaspoons Borax detergent

Mix the contents of the two bowls together kneading until it is fully combined. Discard any remaining liquid. Store in a Ziploc baggie.
I actaully halved this this recipe and it was more than enough for my kids. DOn't get frusterated when you first combine it and it doesn't look like it worked. The more you knead, the more it becomes the consistency that you want. Happy Oblek Making!

That looks cool... I hate play-doh too! How much water, glue, & soap did you use?

We LOVE this stuff. As the daughter of an elementary teacher I was pretty familiar with this stuff but hadn't made it with the kids. Then one day the boys came home with Glue-Goo (our name for it!) after being with my Mom. It's an instant hit (especially since gluten-free Play-doh is tough to make!).
