D day tomorrow

I was having mixed feelings about being induced a week early. My Dr. freaked me out a bit about "well you know if the Pitocin doesn't do anything and we break your water, and still nothing, then you know we're stuck and have to do a c-section." So in my mind of course I'm thinking the worst, and rethinking my idea about being induced for the sake of Owen actually being in town for the delivery and waiting it out 1-2 more weeks to make myself more favorable. The last thing I want is a C-section for failure to progress--especially since I've never had a c-section--lets not start on #4.
Now that the day is almost here, I've never felt so ready. I'm quite useless and uncomfortable. It is definitely time and I have high hopes that things will go just fine. So weird though, I was induced a week early with Audrey and had her 5 hours later. Induced 1 day early with Drew and sat there all day with Pit running and didn't feel anything. Water broke after about 8 hours and he was born and hour later. So I really don't know what to expect. --Hopefully this baby will slip right out since I'm already a 3 and 50%. (I was a finger tip with the others.) Needless to say, I will miss feeling this kid move inside me, I have really enjoyed that part of the pregnancy--the rest can just go away!
I talked with a friend yesterday who wasn't very tactful in her words to me. I told her I was being induced, and she said "Alright, enjoy your baby with the underdeveloped, small squishy head because you didn't let it cook long enough." Who says that? Especially to a friend and especially to someone who is about to give birth. What does she know--I was the L& D nurse not her, and I think my babe is plenty cooked thank you very much!

People say freaky things to you when you are pregnant; that is half the battle really, just seeing if you can last through all the lame comments and personal space invasions! It would make me crazy when people I barely knew would come up and pat my belly- Just say NO to pat, that is my motto!

I love being induced, it'll be great. No worries and p.s. I hate people with no tact.

I have seen just as many "over cooked" babies as I have "under cooked" and a week early is plenty of time in the oven. The farthest I have ever made it is 38 weeks and my kids all had non-squishy heads! The suspense is killing me though...I can't wait to find out if it is a girl or a boy.

Wow! Is your friend always so tactless? I give you credit for not headbutting her.

Good luck with the delivery. I bet things will go just fine since you're favorable and this is baby #4. He'll just shoot out like a rocket. (I'm predicting boy, by the way.)

I'll be thinking of you and praying for NO c-section, they stink...but...whatever it takes for baby to be born healthy! :) You'll be great, take care of yourself and post pics and news soon! Love to you and Owen.

As you know, you are my PERSONAL L&D nurse...so some people just need a good drubbin'....I don't know why people say the things they do.
Can't wait to hear about this new little guy/girl!

Congratulations on baby boy! I was so excited when Robyn called and told me that he was finally here. She said that is was a little rough, but he's here. I hope he is doing okay now. I will call in a few days after you've semi recovered.

So, aren't you glad you did't wait for another week? If you did, then you would've had a toddler. I can't believe he weighed over 9 1/2 pounds!! I bet he is so sweet!! Can't wait to see pictures, and I hope you enjoy that hooter hider! By the way, I got the cookbook magazine and I LOVE it!! It has such great recipes and tips in it. Thank you so much!

Holly, I can't wait to hear/see more! I am so excited about your new little one. I hope you are doing well. XOXO
...I am all about getting the baby out - who wouldn't rather hold, smell, and watch there sweet baby grow rather than have it grow inside?!?

I was induced with Ian and Cameron. Ian was elective because I was so swollen with fluid, in miserable pain and well, just miserable, period. Cameron was 8 days late and I STILL had to be induced with him. Once they started the pitocin, they ended up shutting it off. It kicked in by itself.

Some people have absolutely no tact. Ignore anyone's advice, especially since your background is in this. I was accosted last week by a STRANGER for opting for a doctor and not a holistic midwife and choosing to have my baby in a hospital and not at home. People just need to mind their own business when it comes to others' pregnancies, it's your body, H, do what you feel is right.
