slightly embarrasing, but pretty dang funny!

I wasn't going to blog about this, but it's turned into the standing joke between Owen and I. A couple of weeks ago, Owen and i had our bedroom door locked. Yes, there is now a visual. OF course there is always someone banging on the door, and this time it was Maggie. She said, "what are you guys doing in there? Are you kissing naked and touching hair?" We about died laughing! Ok, so you know, we have NEVER been caught in the act, and for all I know, Maggie doesn't know about that stuff. So, when is it time to have the birds and the bees talk? They always say to get to your kids before they hear it at school. Could she have possibly already heard about it? She is in 3rd grade, but man, I think she's still way too young to hear about this stuff! I'm soooooo not ready for all this growing up stuff!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! that is the FUNNIEST thing I have heard in a long time! I hope my kids stay young and naive for ever. I know my sis-in-law had the talk with her daughter at 8--but I think it was because she was asking question already and she figured she wouldn't lie to her, just tell her about it like it was completely normal--although I think we all know it is NOT normal to realize your parents ARE actually kissing naked and touching hair! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!! Where did she get that line?!!

Oh my gosh, that is hilarious. What WERE you doing in there??? HUH????

My oldest started asking where babies came from right before she turned 8, so I told her. It wasn't that bad.

However, my boy is now 8 and I cannot MAKE MYSELF tell him. For some reason it's way harder with him.

Sounds like you keep the action alive at your house! I dread that day and since my kids are younger I have no idea what to tell you I can just laugh and be thankful I am not in your shoes.

That is sooooo funny! I lied to my boys for a while about how it all happens and they thought for a while that you get to pick a seed out of a bag swallow it and then you get a baby in your tummy. But then Hunter started asking why I chose someone like Austin and I thought I better slowly tell them about things. I've already talked with both of them about it. And let me tell you it's not just a one-time talk. After the first talk I guess Hunter didn't "get it" and Greg and I were kissing and he asked why we were having s-e-x in front of him. So needless to say Greg and I have both had seperate talks with him. You'll know when the time is ready. It seems like they just start asking questions. And yes...they do start talking about it in school, even in the 3rd grade!

Good luck!!

That is really funny! I'm not looking forward to all the sex talks in the future. We've kinda talked about it a little w/ Ashley, but like Melinda said, it's a topic that has to be talked about more than once! A little over their head at first! Your kids look awesome in their halloween costumes, btw. Love Maggie the mummy, especially.

Lol, that is hilarious! I have to admit, I have quite awhile before I'm in your shoes, but I have actually thought about it and wondered what I will do when the time comes...:)

This is too funny. I love how she put it - sounds like she's repeating something she's heard! I personally think if they're asking questions, they're ready. And you don't have to go into great detail or anything, and it's something you have to talk about over time, not just a one time thing. But then again - what do I know? I'm certainly not there yet! Good luck!

That's the funniest story! And Melinda, that is soooo funny too! We've already had the talk with Evie and Julianna, but, yes, it's not really a one time deal. When I talked to Evie about it the second time I could tell her details were kind of fuzzy. It's stressful talking about this stuff! Good luck!
