Livin in the Country

Unfortunatly, the owner of our home took the dryer when we moved in. We have been meaning to buy a dryer, but we're still looking for a good deal on Craigslist. So, we've been using our handy dandy clothesline in the backyard. It really hasn't been too bad, but you would think your clothes would be clothesline fresh? Well..that is very decieving. Even after using lavender fresh snuggle fabric softener, our clothes are quite crunchy, and they don't smell too fresh--kind of sweaty like. Not to mention the "G's" hanging. THis is defenitly something I never thought I would ever do--I'm all about modern conviences. So, soon I hope we'll have a nice fresh dryer.

Sounds like fun! It reminds me of when I hand washed my clothes on my mission in Brazil. I remember the crunchy clothes bit, too. Brazilians iron everything from socks to sheets to underwear. I thought it was weird at first, but then it started to makes sense after I experienced the crunchy clothes fresh off the line for myself. Maybe that's the solution for ya. not. Coming to Utah soon?

Oh my gosh, Holly, you are having quite the adventure! From baby ducks, to ground hogs, to clotheslines - you really are in the country! I always wonder about clotheslines, do the clothes pins leave wierd pinch marks on your clothes?

The only thing I like line dried is sheets - but I like crunchy sheets :)

I love it! It reminds me of Ryan's family. His Mom often puts things out on the line and her clothes line is 10 feet away from all of the horses and horse poop! She has a dryer too! I need to ask her about it...

Marc and I downgraded when we moved next door because we no longer have a dishwasher. Although we still have a washer and dryer in the basement, we actually like the addition of a clothes line on our back porch. I've not noticed any crunchiness of the clothes and Marc swears our clothes smell fresher! Who knows! It's the novelty of the idea that I like... miss you guys!!!
