We're living here in Allentown

We finally made the transition from full time student to employee. It only took us 10 years! Now that Owen has finished dental school, he has accepted a position as a dental resident at Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown Pa. for 1 year. We only moved 1 hour away, and it's been great so far. We love our new place here is Emmaus--pronounced ee-may-us. We have a really nice backyard and a coverd porch in the back. We also have 3 floors, so now the kids get to have a play room just for all their toys and they won't be all over my living room floor anymore! Owen and I have already commented on the fact that it is very quiet and the sky is even bluer. Church was....quiet, and roomy. We have a large building and we're the only ward that meets there. No new members in 2 years! This will be an adjustment from living in Philly and having 7 baptisms a week.--Not to mention the small chapel and 3 wards that met there. Did I mention our buildng is in the middle of NO WHERE! Some where in the middle of a bunch of corn fields!
Our neighbors our very friendly--in fact everyone is very friendly--hard to get used to coming from Philly--sorry! So here are some highlights and downfalls of our new move. 1. Apparantly there is a lot to do here--they say it's called "the Little Apple" --like NY. 2. it's peaceful and clean. 3. we finally have a paycheck 4. a nice big backyard for the kids to play in. 5. There is this great outdoor mall called "The Promenade" --there is a shooting water fountain (like the one in SLC at the Gateway mall) for the kids to play in. 6. Dorney Park 7. Elementary school is 2 blocks away, and Maggie is excited that she doesn't have to wear a uniform anymore. 8. There has to be a lot more, but hey, I've only been here a week. Downfalls---1. Our house has scary wallpaper and woodpaneling--hey, but it's cheap. 2. it's kind of lonely--so far the phone has only rang 2 times in the last couple of days. I miss hearing on my answering machine--"Hey, it's Ang, or Hey it's Tamar." I guess I need to make some new friends. Easier said than done. Good thing Krystin isn't too far from me. You're all welcome to come visit anytime! You can even sleep over if you want!
For some reason my slide show wouldn't take my captions--so if you're wondering about any of them--obviously our house front and back. Our street, and the water ones are at The Promenade--water shooting park. The other one is Drew at the Kutztown Festival on the 4th and the kids passed out in the car afterwards. And the empty room is our old place in Colonial Village as we checked out. Good-bye Philly!

Your place looks great. I bet it feels good to be done with school. Berlynn loves to play in water fountains. We will have to set a date to come up and visit. Or maybe playgroup???

Hi Holly! I think your place looks great! Your comment about not posting your pictures made me laugh. Don't you worry--your time is a comin'!

I'm sorry I didn't even get to say bye. We'll have to get together before we leave--maybe the crayola factory. We miss seeing you guys!

I was thinking of you as we drove back from Palmyra, passing through Allentown half asleep at 11 pm... wondering if it was too late to call to crash on your floor! Nice house and neighborhood - we should definitley have a playdate in Allentown!
